People can now use AI to find out a lot about anyone (including you) with a simple prompt.
I recently discovered this while working with Inner Circle members, and frankly, I was astonished.
Perplexity knows a lot
AI tools like Perplexity.ai can quickly generate detailed “mini dossiers” about anyone, including yourself. Here’s the process:
- Go to Perplexity.ai
- Type: “Tell me about [name] [location] [email/website]”
- Watch it compile astonishing details from the internet.
A personal test
I tested this on myself first. Here’s what happened:
- Perplexity pulled from 19 sources.
- It compiled my professional history, teaching background, and contact details (take a look).
- The AI described my “personal approach” to my work.
- Sources included LinkedIn and specialized databases like ContactOut
Why this matters
AI-powered research is becoming the new normal. People researching you (potential clients, opposing counsel, etc.) can quickly access a detailed overview of your professional life.
This is huge.
Try it yourself
Run a Perplexity search on yourself. You’ll be amazed.
Here’s the exact prompt:
- “Tell me about [attorney name] who lives in [city] and has email address [work email]”
Running this search on yourself isn’t just interesting—it’s a smart move.
If this information is available to others, shouldn’t you know what they might see?
