Ray Ward has a new blog up called Rain Man 2 and it’s a great site. Good mixture of material, ranging from religious observations to writing tips, with a lot of legal observations as well. Ray is an appellate lawyer and a great writer. Here is one post that I found quite interesting as it involves a discussion that Ray had with one of his partners about the finer points of style in legal writing (i.e. Should one use ‘whether’ to start the issue statement in an appellate brief?). It’s nice to see lawyers debating about writing style. Oh, and you’ll note that Bryan Garner even weighs in at the end.
