The NFL has a deal where FedEx gives the player of the week money to donate to their selected charity. This week the contest is between New Orleans’ QB Drew Brees (leading the league in passing yards) and Dallas’ Tony Romo (well there are other contenders but these are the two vying for the top spot in the QB category).
I like Dallas and I’ve really enjoyed watching Tony Romo emerge as a great leader. But let’s put things in perspective. You can’t authoritatively say who was the better quarterback last week, but I think it’s safe to say that most people in Dallas wouldn’t mind if the $5,000 donation made its way to a community that really needs it. Brees has designated Children’s Hospital, which is just down the street from me, and I can say first hand that’s definitely a worthwhile cause.
