So one thing I learned in this tragedy is that cellphone service was unreliable for most of the tragedy. The only way to communicate was by SMS. I showed this trick to a few people and they appreciated it. Why is it that the SMS works but cellphone service?
Don’t know. I guess because it’s a small packet communication. But I notice that Sprint PCS Vision service was non-operational almost immediately. Oh well, I’m glad I knew how to use SMS. It was the only way to communicate from the disaster zone. Looks like I’m going to have to get a new cellphone # if I want to use my phone for regular voice service.

Dear Greg,
I have had a love affair with New Orleans for decades and as I sit herewith tears in my eyes, watching hr. after hr. of news, I find myself worrying about the patients at the various hospitals. The rumors abound socould you please do an older lady a favor and send me a reply on what youknow? Maybe then I could exhale. Thanks so much. Best Regards, Shug
