Several people I know are thinking they are going to return to New Orleans on Monday. I have a really good imagination and a great hope that they are right. But, somehow, I just don’t see it.
New Orleans is a battle zone, a place where people are engaged in a primitive struggle to survive. I don’t think the struggle will be over in just a few days.
I might have thought that when before I left the city (because I was in one of the least damaged areas), but now that I’m out (and looking at the TV accounts) it’s obvious that this disaster is of Epic proportions.
