Malware, for those of you who don’t know, is the term for ‘bad software’ that sneaks into your computer and either does really malicious stuff (erase files etc.) or does really annoying stuff (spit out pop up ads for casinos and bodily enlargements). I’ve had my Google toolbar putting out some serious mojo on the the Pop Ups that invade my Windows machine (Macs don’t have problems with Pop Ups or viruses, which is why they are so boring and no one uses them).
Well, it looks like the Google toolbar mojo is no longer working, or at least not at full strength. It shows that it has blocked 381 pop ups since I installed it six months ago (seems like the number should be higher). But now, it’s failing me and I’m starting to get Pop Ups again. Well, actually they are ‘Pop Unders’ but who cares about the proper terminology? Time to start looking for a new solution that will allow me to completely extirpate the cyber-detritus that is invading my Windows machine. I’d really rather just ditch the Windows machine, but that ain’t gonna happen.
