Most law schools have law clinics, which is a good thing –although many pure academic-types deride clinic as a waste of time. The fact is that legal clinics give students a chance to learn the practical side of the profession, and it gives the clients get affordable legal representation by people who are enthusiastic and highly-motivated. It’s a win-win deal.
Our anonymous law student over at Down in the Mine has these observations, which include “think like a human; talk like a lawyer.” Sage advice, indeed.
P.S. If you want a better practice, start using the 80/20 Principle.
I suppose it depends on the context but wouldn’t better advice be to “think like a lawyer, talk like a human?”
