New Orleans is about to go high tech with parking ticket enforcement: “City officials are buying three separate batches of hand-held computers, basically beefed-up Palm Pilots, to link its parking officers, traffic cops and safety inspectors to vast databases. If all goes well, the devices will increase efficiency, fight crime and bring in more money.”
Nice to see a municipality deploying technology to increase efficiency. Not that our citizens want their government to be more efficient at writing and enforcing parking tickets.
