Times Picayune: “Since 1999, the New Orleans school system has sent paychecks to more than 1,000 people who had stopped working — sometimes for a year or more — and until recently, it paid insurance premiums for about 2,000 people not entitled to the benefits, according to a board consultant. The errors probably cost the system millions of dollars, but the exact amount hasn’t yet been determined.”

Sheesh, governments sometimes act like they are spending someone else’s money.
