Jack Hart provides some really useful advice in his book, A Writer’s Coach. What is good writing? Hart says that good writing:
- gets to the point quickly
- has personality
- paints a scene vividly, and transports the reader to that scene
- has flow and energy
- is clear and grammatical
I’m sure you can make your own list, or quibble with Hart’s. Seems like a helpful list to me.
P.S. If you're a practicing lawyer, check out this Law Practice Assessment . After answering a few questions, you'll get detailed recommendations for improving five key areas of your practice.
Interesting that the paperback version (Amazon's price) is selling for less than the Kindle version. Something not right about that.
