I wasn’t all that blown away when the annoucement was made that Michael Powell (Chairman of the FCC) was starting a blog. The first post was little stiff and I just got the impression it was more of a clever ploy (and don’t get me wrong, I’m a HUGE fan of Michael Powell’s). But the second post, where he addresses the comments that were left on his weblog, is pretty impressive. What’s more impressive is that he allows for comments and still more impressive is the sophistication of the comments that he receives.
This is the way government should work. Finally, a politician who understands that a weblog is today’s equivalent of the ‘fireside chat.’
