My friend Rick Klau is not afraid to use technology in the extreme, so I was a bit surprised when he admitted recently that he doesn’t backup his computer data. I had trouble figuring out how to backup my data when I was using a Windows PC, but when I got a Mac I found the process pretty easy (i.e. just signup for a .Mac account and use ‘Backup’). I have a PC at work, but I don’t keep important data on the local drive; instead I store it on the network which gets backed up automatically by our network administrator.
Anyway, it looks like Rick has figured out an cheap and easy way to backup his PC and, if I had to backup my PC I’d investigate Rick’s proposed solution.
