I’m sorry, but I’ve never liked Geoffery Fieger. I’m glad to see the Michigan Supreme Court take this action against him (which unfortunately is also an action that affects his client). According to the news account, it was “at least the third time in recent years a Michigan appellate court has tossed out a multimillion dollar award to a Fieger client, each time citing his over-the-top rhetorical appeals to the emotions of jurors.”
Zealous representation is one thing, being an out-and-out inflamer of jury passions is another thing. And, one last thought: if Fieger was acting that inappropriately, how about admonishing the trial judge who let him get away with these tactics to begin with?
